An event dedicated to the World AIDS Day

December 1, 2022 in Dushanbe, in the new building of Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, at the event dedicated to the World AIDS Day, the Republican public organization "Afif" within the framework of the "We are under the same sun" project funded by Gilead science Inc. organized an information corner with a quiz among the participants on HIV infection and distribution of the brochure "Myths about HIV and AIDS". Participants who answered the questions correctly received promotional products (t-shirts, caps, backpacks) made as a part of “We are under the same sun” project.

At the same time, as part of the event, the awarding ceremony of the Republican Competition "We are under the same sun" among journalists and bloggers, organized by the RPO "Afif" in the nominations "Best Printed Publication", "Best TV Story," "Best Blog Content" was held, where the winners were rewarded with certificates and monetary awards. It should be noted that within the Project, RPO "Afif" in conjunction with the Centers for the Prevention and Control of AIDS has held information activities in the cities of Penjikent, Khujand, Kulyab and Bokhtar.

In addition, in the framework of the project, RPO “Afif” has produced a social video “We are under the same sun”, which is being aired on TV channels "Tojikiston", "Safina" and "Varzish" from November 20 to December 10 2022.

The total coverage of information events amounted to more than 3 million people.

Reference: The project “We are under the same sun” aims to reduce the negative impact of HIV infection in the Republic of Tajikistan in the context of the coronavirus epidemic by conducting awareness-raising work among the general population using innovative approaches aimed at creating a favorable social environment that excludes stigmatization and discrimination of people living with HIV.
