Hi. Can I get HIV from dried blood? I went to the lab for blood checking and the lady drew my blood and accidently scratched the plastic tray before taking the blood and I didn’t see any visible blood on the needle. Can I get HIV in this way? I hope I was the first visitor on that day.
Hi. Such case eliminates the risk of infection, because it is not possible to transmit HIV through a plastic tray. The tray is not considered as a stabbing instrument to hold infected blood for transmission. Especially if you have not seen traces of blood, then there is nothing to worry about. Dried blood cannot transmit HIV.
