USAID Eliminating Tuberculosis in Central Asia Project held a number of information sessions among vulnerable groups of the population
From January 1 to 31, 2021, the USAID Eliminating Tuberculosis in Central Asia Project, in cooperation with district tuberculosis (TB) centers, held information sessions for 280 migrants and close contacts of people with TB in Dangara, A. Jomi, Temurmalik, Norak, Panjakent, Mastchoh and Asht districts.
During the events organized with the aim of TB prevention and treatment among vulnerable groups of population, TB specialist told about the main symptoms of tuberculosis and the consequences of a contravention of adherence to treatment, and also answered the vast number of questions from the participants. All participants were screened for TB.
The USAID Eliminating Tuberculosis in Central Asia Project is being implemented to reduce the burden of tuberculosis in Central Asia by strengthening local and regional capacities to better detect and treat TB and drug-resistant TB (DR-TB).
