On July 29, 2020 a working meeting of partner network service suppliers was conducted in Bokhtar city. This event was conducted within the framework of the project USAID Eliminating tuberculosis in Central Asia, funded by U.S. Agency for international development (USAID).
On the working meeting participated 36 representatives of Department of health and social protection of population under the executive authority of Khatlon region, Republican center for protection of the population from tuberculosis, Republican center for AIDS prevention and control, department on women and family affairs under executive authority of Khatlon region, department of assistance and social protection, department of Agency of migration and population employment of Khatlon region, reproductive health center, and primary health care system and public organizations of Khatlon region.
During the working meeting, the participants discussed on strengthening coordination and cooperation between government agencies and public organizations on prevention and control of tuberculosis among labor migrants, people living with HIV and vulnerable groups of the population. Participants jointly discussed possible ways to overcome barriers and reduce stigma and discrimination during TB treatment among key population.
Information: Project USAID Eliminating tuberculosis in Central Asia aims to reduce the burden of tuberculosis (TB) in Central Asia by strengthening local and regional capacities to better detect and treat drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) among labor migrants, people living with HIV, as well as those who have been particularly affected by this disease.
Project implements its activities in twelve pilot regions: Dangara, Nurek, Panjakent, Khujand, Isfara cities and Temurmalik, Jomi, Asht, Mastchoh, Bobojon Gafurov, Spitamen and Djabor Rasulov districts of Khatlon and Sughd regions.
