Republican public organization "Afif" informs, that on July 28, 2020 a working meeting of partner network service suppliers was conducted in Bokhtar. This event was conducted within the framework of the project "TB prevention and care in prisons", funded by U.S. Agency for international development (USAID).
On the working meeting participated 33 representatives of the Main Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sentences of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, Department of health and social protection of population under the executive authority of Khatlon region, Republican center for protection of the population from tuberculosis, Republican center for AIDS prevention and control, primary health care system and public organizations of Khatlon region.
During the working meeting, the participants discussed issues on overcoming barriers to timely detection and treatment of tuberculosis in prisons, registration of former prisoners in the Centers for protection of the population from tuberculosis and provision of medical, social and legal services provided under the project.
Information: The project "TB Prevention and Care in Prisons" is aimed to mobilize resources and strengthen the capacities of penitentiary and civilian health sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan and civil society organizations (CSOs)s to introduce a sustainable system of early TB detection, timely treatment, and adherence support for prisoners, and post release prisoners with TB, DR-TB and TB/HIV.
