The research results on assessing the level of labor migration among drug users have been published.
The results of the study "Assessment the level of labor migration among drug users in the pilot regions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan" conducted by the Republican public organization AFEW-Tajikistan in 2017 became available to a broad public.
The report provides information on the research goals, methodology, participants and results that confirms the hypothesis of the drug users’ involvement in the general migration processes from the two Central Asian republics to the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan.
This is the first research of this kind to identify the needs and demands of key populations planning to travel abroad for earnings.
The AFEW-Tajikistan initiative has been implemented under the project "Bridging the Gaps: Health and Rights for Key Populations -2.0" with the financial support of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the UNAIDS Country Office in Tajikistan.
