JOINT ACTIVITIES FOR PREVENTION OF TUBERCULOSIS IN PRISONS

On February 13, 2018, the Republican public organization "AFEW-Tajikistan" handed over 6900 copies of the brochure on "TB Prevention, Treatment, Care and Support" to the Medical Department of the Penitentiary System of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The content of the brochure has been coordinated with the Republican Center for Protection of the Population from Tuberculosis under the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population (MHSPP) of the Republic of Tajikistan (RT) and approved by the Head Administration  for the Execution of Criminal Penalties of the Ministry of Justice of RT (Penitentiary System).

The information material is intended to raise prisoners’ awareness on tuberculosis prevention in detention facilities and importance of adherence to  treatment of TB.

It is expected that this information will be disseminated among the convicts during joint sanitary, educational and TB preventive activities of the Penitentiary System and AFEW-Tajikistan planned in the country's largest colonies.
