On September 22 - 23, 2020 the Republican public organization "Afif" in cooperation with the Main Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sentences of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan held training on the topic “School patients” for 18 employees of the penitentiary system and workers of public organizations. The participants learned how to organize trainings for patients on tuberculosis and HIV infection in prisons.
The event was conducted within the framework of the project "TB Prevention and care in Prisons", funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which aims to mobilize resources and strengthen the capacity of penitentiary and civilian health sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan and public organizations to implement a sustainable system of early TB detection, timely treatment and adherence support for prisoners and post release prisoners with TB, DR TB and TB / HIV.
