Republican public organization "Afif" is launching the realization of 2nd phase of the project "Strengthening the capacity of medical service of penitentiary institutions to prevent, diagnose, treat coronavirus infection COVID-19 and ensure effective infection control at Head Department of Penal System under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan".
The project will be aimed to strengthen the capacity of medical service of Head Department of Penal System under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan to prevent expansion of COVID-19 pandemic, timely detection and treatment of patients with coronavirus infection, and ensure effective infection control in prisons.
The project provides raising the awareness of prison staff and prisoners regarding coronavirus infection, improving the professional skills of prison medical staff, ensuring the rights of prisoners to receive basic medical services, as well as urgent organizational, material, technical, preventive and anti-epidemic measures.
The project is funded by Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan.
Project implementation period: from June 12th till November 12th, 2020.
