The working meetings on discussion of results of a desk study of drug legislation in the Republic of Tajikistan were conducted from January till March, 2020 in Dushanbe, Bokhtar, Kulob, Khujand and Khorog.
The events were organized by Republican public organization “Afif” in cooperation with the Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ministry of justice of the Republic of Tajikistan, Supreme Court of the Republic of Tajikistan and Agency of medical supervision of the Ministry of health and social protection of population of the Republic of Tajikistan under the project “Supporting initiatives to improve National Drug Policy in the Republic of Tajikistan” funded by Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation – Tajikistan.
On these working meetings participated the representatives of the Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Agency of medical supervision of the Ministry of health and social protection of population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Republican AIDS Center of the Ministry of health and social protection of population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Republican Narcological Center named after professor Gulyamov, as well as representatives of public organizations of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the working meetings, results of a desk study of drug legislation in the Republic of Tajikistan and existing contradictions between various regulatory documents were discussed, and recommendations on optimizing legislation collected.
Based on the results of these meetings, an article was prepared and published in media mass on the relevance on improving drug law.
The working meetings were held as part of the Joint Plan of the Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and Republican Public Organization “Afif” for 2019-2020.
