RPO "Afif" launched a new project to improve the access of convicts to medical services

On May 11, 2021, RPO Afif launched a new project “Strengthening the potential of the medical service of the system for the execution of criminal penalties of the Republic of Tajikistan for timely diagnosis and quality medical care for convicts”, funded by Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan.

The main goal of the project is to assist in further strengthening the capacity of the medical service of the Main Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sentences of the Republic of Tajikistan in providing timely and qualified medical care, ensuring equal access to health services for convicts.

Within the framework of this intervention, the medical service of the MDECS MJ RT will be equipped with modern medical equipment to provide emergency surgical care to convicts with various diseases, also trainings and extension courses will be organized to improve the professional skills of medical workers in the penitentiary system.
